Tac-Med Basics

Tactical Medical (Tec-Med) training is a systematic approach to dealing with casualties in a tactical environment using principals based on the Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) model (MARCH).

Participants will learn skills necessary to mitigate the loss of life while in an active threat environment using their Individual First Aid Kit (IFAK). In addition, participants will learn how to deploy commercially available tourniquets (CAT, SOF-T, SWAT-T, SAM-XT), hemostatic gauze (Combat Gauze), pressure dressing and wound packing material in order to stop severe bleeding and improve the survivability of victims of violent attacks or common medical emergencies. 

Participants will also learn different methods for extracting victims using manual carry techniques, as well as using commercial and improvised litters.
